The new building of the Air Traffic Control Centre Radar and Approach Area in Panama was inaugurated on Friday March 14, 2014.

The new structure has new technology that will allow safer transportation in the territorial airspace comprising 623 000 835 km2.

10 full position monitoring aided by 7 positions of attendees were installed, plus a modern radar simulator with two training positions are acquired, which will allow the instruction of the new Air Traffic Controllers, which allow the investigation of new air traffic controllers as well as the essential recurrent training of current staff.

On the other hand, there will be a new system of aeronautical message handling, with an electronic system for the production of aeronautical charts and publications and flight procedures.

This turnkey project was conducted by the SOFRATESA / THALES Consortium in a record time. In addition to the systems Air Traffic Control and the radar approach, the consortium was responsible for the complete construction of civil works of modern building housing such equipment.
